School of Advocacy for Youth on Human Rights in Southeast Asia

In 2021, the school trained and facilitated 10 young advocates from Southeast Asia to articulate their voices and present their recommendations to duty bearers, who are AICHR Representatives.

In 2022, we are welcoming more youth to be part of the school!


Youth Advocates Program - Batch II


This online interactive program is designed to help Southeast Asian youths understand human rights knowledge and contexts, empower them with relevant advocacy skills, and facilitate them to raise their concerns to relevant duty bearers.

Language of instruction: English
Hours of commitment: 22-25 hours

Accessibility: we will be in touch regarding the accessibility needs directly to selected participants only. During application, we will not ask for your accessibility needs.

Who are eligible ? any youth who
1. are between 15-35 years old
2. are a national of / living in Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam and other territories in Southeast Asia
3. believe in the values of human rights, justice, democracy, and freedoms


  1. Facilitating Southeast Asian youths to understand human rights advocacy in a deeper level
  2. Empowering Southeast Asian youths with relevant advocacy skills
  3. Facilitating Southeast Asian youths to access the space to intervene for policy changing and/or rights-based narrative
  4. Connecting Southeast Asian youths to AICHR Representatives and Human Rights Experts
