UPCOMING OPEN SPACE
ASEAN Youth Forum (AYF) aims to accommodate the voices of young Southeast Asians. Being a platform to accommodate the voices of young Southeast Asians it has always been, we would like to announce that we are hosting the fifteenth Youth: Open Space
Sunday, December 12th, 2021
12.00 Noon - 03.00 PM (Bangkok/Jakarta Time)
Topic: The Trails of Youth Activism
Co-hosts: TBA
Notes of Participation: Download (Available Soon)
ASEAN Youth Forum (AYF) aims to accommodate the voices of young Southeast Asians. In this edition, we would like to record youth’s experience in doing activism and advocating their concerned issues. During the pandemic, youth initiatives do not stop. More strategies and activism arise as we go during the pandemic. Some people start by attending webinars. Some conduct safe discussion spaces. Some go directly to the streets. Some do lobbying. Some organize range of events. If you feel like sharing your thoughts and experience so far or simply just want to hear from other youth in the region, feel free to join because we'd love to have you in this open space.
Key Driving Questions:
- How did you start your activism?
- How do you do your activism, especially during the pandemic?
- DO you have any confusion around youth activism and rights-based sectors?
Session's Structure
The open space is designed for a very interactive session where there will be hosts that would moderate the leaderless discussion. It will take place via Zoom (please download Zoom App beforehand) and once the discussion is opened, the host will break the participants into smaller group so that eveyone can have equal opportunity to share and to voice out their mind and feelings. The discussion will last around 45 minutes. ASEAN Youth Forum will create an article and video output based on the discussion.
