This message rang loud and clear at the Diplomatic Briefing on Youth Participation in Foreign Policy, hosted by the Embassy of Finland in Jakarta. With the participation of diverse youth voices, the briefing underscored one powerful truth: young people are not bystanders in diplomacy — they are active stakeholders shaping the course of global and national policy.

AYF Secretariat’s Call for Urgent Solidarity with Myanmar

Representing youth diplomacy, the ASEAN Youth Forum (AYF) Secretariat raised a critical concern: the dual crises faced by Myanmar. The region has been shaken by a devastating earthquake, only to be compounded by the ongoing brutality of military violence. AYF emphasized that humanitarian aid must be directed to the people — not the military junta. This plea for international solidarity is a call for justice, compassion, and accountability.

Advocating Civil Supremacy in National Development

Bringing the conversation closer to home, AYF highlighted the need for non-militaristic approaches in Indonesia’s national development. Genuine progress in democracy and representation can only thrive under civil supremacy. The message was clear: youth envision a future where peace, not power, guides leadership.
